Guest Blogger–WENDY PAINE MILLER–The ABCs of Creating an Engaging Blog

After I read one of my reader’s questions about setting up effective and appealing blogs, I went straight over to my guest blogger’s website and asked her to write a guest post! Wendy Paine Miller has one of the coolest, prettiest and most interactive blogs around. I found myself modeling my blog revamp on her setup. And today, she’s here… Read More

Guest Blogger–JULIE CAVE–On Building Suspense

Today, I’m so excited to introduce Julie Cave, my guest blogger. I’ve been following her FB page, http://www.facebook.com/julieacave, for some time, and have thoroughly enjoyed her Monday Masterclass writing series over at her blog, http://www.juliecave.com/ (we were on the same wavelength there, with a Monday writing series!). As a matter of fact, if you visit her blog today, you’ll see MY… Read More

Guest Blogger–DE JACKSON–Scribbling in the Margins (Of Life)

I am so excited to introduce my guest blogger today, I can hardly contain myself. I found De’s blog when I wrote my tritina poem for the Writer’s Digest blog. De’s poems were knock-your-socks off incredible. I’m picky about poets, having an affinity for Emily Dickinson, Theodore Roethke, Edna St. Vincent Millay, and many others since college. And I’d put… Read More

Happy #WestVirginiaDay! You might know that I love Happy #WestVirginiaDay! You might know that I love setting my contemporary mystery series in my home state of WV. What you might not know is that there was a time I wanted nothing more than to move away and spread my wings (somewhere like NYC! Where I wound up living for a year when I got married!). But years down the road, I felt my mountain roots pulling me back. Suddenly, I could see nothing but beauty in these comforting mountains and moody skies and honeysuckled summers. West Virginia is so many things—good and bad as any state is—but it’s entirely unique. My husband once marveled at how many people “came back” to their home state here, even after being gone for years, and I see that all the time. These #Appalachianmountains have a way about them, and it becomes a part of you, a love you don’t want to let go of. I’m a #mountainmama, and I’m glad to bring this truly #wildandwonderful state to readers with my books.
