Books I’m Reading This Summer

Just wanted to take time out from my regular posting schedule to share books I’m reading this summer. I’d love to know what you’re reading! As an indie author, I know how key it is to get the word out on great indie books. Not all the titles on my list are indie, but the majority are. And they’re on my list because I… Read More

Lazy Days of Summer Book Review–Brandy Heineman reviews GONE SOUTH by Meg Moseley

I’ve been looking forward to Brandy’s review of Gone South, by Meg Moseley. First off, I’ve already heard stellar things about this book, and secondly, Brandy is real blessing and encouragement to me, and I knew she’d do a great job. You can find her blog here: Bookishness and other Beauties, where she explores writing, genealogy, and other cool stuff…. Read More

Lazy Days of Summer Book Review–Gwendolyn Gage reviews A HEART DECEIVED by Michelle Griep

I’m just bursting with pride as I introduce both my guest reviewer and the author of our Lazy Summer Read today! Gwendolyn Gage is a faithful follower here at Writing Beyond the Vows, and a great friend as well. I was elated when she semi-finaled in the Genesis contest (Amy Drown, our reviewer last week, did as well!). You can… Read More

Lazy Days of Summer Book Review: Amy Drown reviews FIVE DAYS IN SKYE by Carla Laureano

So excited about this new summer series, which I’ve decided to call Lazy Days of Summer Book Reviews, because, hey, I am being kinda lazy. You, my dear readers, are reviewing MY to-be-read books and telling me all about them. In the meantime, I’m brainstorming for the next book I’m going to write. So many thanks to all of you… Read More

The Post in which MY To-Be-Read List becomes YOURS…

I have a small pile of books I’ve been working my way through. I also have some books I want to read very soon. With the help of a brainstorming friend, I’ve concocted an evil plan for my summer blogging…let me share it with you. Below, I’m going to post my To-Be-Read book list. If you’ve read one of these… Read More

Happy #WestVirginiaDay! You might know that I love Happy #WestVirginiaDay! You might know that I love setting my contemporary mystery series in my home state of WV. What you might not know is that there was a time I wanted nothing more than to move away and spread my wings (somewhere like NYC! Where I wound up living for a year when I got married!). But years down the road, I felt my mountain roots pulling me back. Suddenly, I could see nothing but beauty in these comforting mountains and moody skies and honeysuckled summers. West Virginia is so many things—good and bad as any state is—but it’s entirely unique. My husband once marveled at how many people “came back” to their home state here, even after being gone for years, and I see that all the time. These #Appalachianmountains have a way about them, and it becomes a part of you, a love you don’t want to let go of. I’m a #mountainmama, and I’m glad to bring this truly #wildandwonderful state to readers with my books.
