Softcover Release and a Giveaway!

picture013

Yes! I know many of you have been waiting for the hard copy of God’s Daughter. Please know that my critique partner (Becky Doughty), my brother (Jon Day), and I have thrown ourselves into getting the best possible finished product out to you. I wanted something that looked as professional and “real-book” like as possible.

The books are priced at $12 and are 325 pages long. I’ve been thrilled with the way they look. You can check the photo at the top of the page for a close-up of the novel spine. You can buy it HERE on Amazon now! YAY!!!

To celebrate, I want to do a giveaway of one signed proof copy below! I’m also throwing in your choice of tea or coffee from my local coffee shop in West Virginia. I’ll do a two-week sign-up, since many of us have Thanksgiving coming up (I know you Canadian peeps have already celebrated!).

Here’s a front view of the novel…please ignore the crazy hair and bitten fingernails in these pics…

Alrighty! Sign up below! The more stuff you follow, the more chances to win! And tell me if the Rafflecopter isn’t working right–my first time using it!

So cool – love seeing these pics of the BOOK!!!!! Amazing what we can do with indie-publishing when we really make the effort to do it right. Amazing.

Question- why is it that the various versions seem to differ in length so considerably? The advance readers version you very kindly emailed me (nearly finished) is 290-something pages, but according to Goodreads the Kindle edition is only 240 something, but the softback is 350 pages?

Hi Bookish! The early reader version I sent you was formatted by a different service than the finalized Kindle version, and it was double-spaced, I believe. I have edited it somewhat before the finalized Kindle version, which is single-spaced. The novel is different as it’s a print version–so again, different line spacing/font. Don’t worry–it’s all the same story, just with tweaks and different spacing. I’ve also added a map to the finalized version. Hope this helps!

Ha ha, thought it might perhaps have something to do with editing. Its like my own book- original word version 33 pages, Kindle Edition, 51 pages.

Thanks so much, TC! It’s funny–I have no idea where those answered questions go…I need to figure this Rafflecopter thing out more!

Not yet); my first irises of spring; and finally an Etsy decal I’m thinking about getting for my car since I’m such a #tombraider fan and still playing through #TombRaiderRemastered. It’s only an hour from me in #greenbriercountywv. Every year, I love walking around the grounds to see the #tulips—my favorite flower—and this year we caught them at just the right time. If you want to read about it in my books (I do on-the-spot research), check out Undercut and Deadlocked in my #hemlockcreeksuspense series or Fair Trade in my #BarksandBeansCafe #cozymystery series, among others. Setting books in the lovely town of #LewisburgWV is so fun—plenty of great shops and restaurants there, and if you’re ever in town, be sure to drop by The Greenbrier! #authorsofinsta #authorlife #westvirginia #wildandwonderfulwv #wvauthor #appalachianspring #tulips #tulipsofinstagram #tuliplover🌷 #silversisters #marriedloveofmylife❤️ #heatherdaygilbertbooks #mysterylover

But here are some of my own tulips pics and other things I enjoyed this week: 1) got to get #coffee @otterandoakwv cafe with my daughter—always enjoy looking at artwork and the relaxing atmosphere. 2) if you’re from #WestVirginia, you can guess what these are—I cooked some up with fried potatoes this week. Anyone have a favorite ramp recipe to share? 3) my Rembrandt tulips that have candy cane colors, 4) my loud yet loving #flametipsiamese #cat Westley, 5) my grandson’s onesie that cracked me up, 6) more Rembrandt tulips from my #flowerbed.
