Loved this peek into your mountains, Heather. When I think of West Virginia, I always think of the movie "October Sky". 🙂

When I think of West Virginia it reminds me of the Southern Fried Sushi books. Beautiful snow! Brr!

Oh, I LOVED that movie!!Ahem, great vlog Heather. May I call you 'Heather'? I loved the view into your back yard. If people saw into our back yard, thy'd see plumes of smoke because our boys love to burn things.

OCTOBER SKY was such an amazing story, Amanda! And I haven't read those books yet, Jessica! And yes, you may call me "Heather," Jennifer. Grin. I think the plumes of smoke would be fun to watch!!!

I heard some of my favorite new words in that post! Enigma and disingenuous. Brilliantly spoken, and in a bit of a classy southern style.Prescription drugs are a horrifying darkness these days. So sad. I'm really looking forward to seeing how you address this topic that touches the lives of so many.Blessings,Becky

Thanks, Becky…you know I'm fond of those words! And yes, prescription drugs…a whole can of worms there. And TC, thanks so much. Girl, you have more faith than I do! That's why I'm so thankful for friends like you who pray for me!

Country roads, take me home..I love this, Heather! Being from West Virginia, I've heard every joke out there. Thankfully, you and I both have good teeth. 🙂 When I think of WV, I think of my family who were all born and raised in WV. I recall the beautiful mountains, streams and wildlife. WV is truly a gorgeous state. I think it's a great setting for your suspense novel. I look forward to reading it.

Jill, lovely thoughts…the streams are so great, aren't they? And the family here. But the teeth…I'm thankful for my orthodontist, or mine might not have turned out so well! HEE.

Oh, and Jill–I was definitely kicking around "Country Roads…something or another" for my series title. I came up w/something else, but I always smile when I hear that song.

What fun to hear more about your story (and real) world! And yes, Jessica's right. Such beautiful snow! We're "toasty warm," all right! 73 was the high today. 🙂

I lived in Fairfax Virginia for three years as a kid, so I can't imagine West Virginia being all that different–tall trees, woodsy feel–except maybe a bit more mountainous. 😉 I acutally did drive through the WV mountains with my family long ago, and I was clenching my teeth on those narrow roads, trying to look down at the steep drops!

Fairfax! My dad grew up there, Gwen! THAT place has built up something crazy! And my main character lives down one of those driveways that seem to "drop-off" the side of the mountain. You know the ones–you wonder if there's a house at the bottom of it! Grin.
