Yup, I’m Jumping on the “Bloggy-Break” Train!

Thank you all so much for visiting my guest post at Southern Writers on Wednesday! Loved your comments!

So, I’ve decided that since my brain is all but derailed this month, I need to take a blogging break. Still waiting to hear back on submissions for my Viking novel (yes, I’ll freely admit it’s been almost 10 months of waiting now!), and I’m still writing my next (non-Viking) novel to take my mind off my wait. I’d like to get this one finished by January, which means I need to add a mere 40,000 words between now and then.

SO, I’m going to hunker down and write. I’ll miss you blog-readers dreadfully in December! Your comments just brighten my days. I promise to be back and hopefully refreshed in January. AND if I get any spectacular news between now and then, I’ll definitely share with you!

Merry Christmas and let’s hope it’s a VERY Happy New Year…2013, here we come!

–Heather

DL! Where've you been? And sorry about that. Come back in January. Do you have a FB author page? Mine's http://www.facebook.com/pages/Heather-Day-Gilbert/255797467834948 and I'll try to check in now and then throughout December over there.

I might be boarding that train with you, Heather. I'm worn out from NaNo and other projects. I hope Santa brings you some good news! Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Hi, I’m Heather…

I write contemporary mysteries and Viking historicals. Born and brought up in the mountains of West Virginia, I enjoy writing about small towns, family relationships, and women who aren't afraid to protect those they love. Read More…

Happy #WestVirginiaDay! You might know that I love Happy #WestVirginiaDay! You might know that I love setting my contemporary mystery series in my home state of WV. What you might not know is that there was a time I wanted nothing more than to move away and spread my wings (somewhere like NYC! Where I wound up living for a year when I got married!). But years down the road, I felt my mountain roots pulling me back. Suddenly, I could see nothing but beauty in these comforting mountains and moody skies and honeysuckled summers. West Virginia is so many things—good and bad as any state is—but it’s entirely unique. My husband once marveled at how many people “came back” to their home state here, even after being gone for years, and I see that all the time. These #Appalachianmountains have a way about them, and it becomes a part of you, a love you don’t want to let go of. I’m a #mountainmama, and I’m glad to bring this truly #wildandwonderful state to readers with my books.
